Changing Seasons

Posted on

As Fashion Month kicks off in New York, it’s time to start thinking about updating our wardrobe and hair in line with the new season. Here’s our pick of the trends and some tips on how to recreate them from the comfort of your own home.

Fashion Month New York Latest Trends

Long hair reigned supreme across a number of runways, showing the ‘Lob’ that its days are numbered. Distressed texture appeared to be a thing of the past, making way for a more polished and sometimes poker straight finish. For that luxe-gloss finish as seen at Tommy Hilfiger or Pucci, run 1-2 pumps of Super Oil 3 through your hair as a finishing step.

New York Fashion Week 70s Flare

Alongside long hair came bombshell waves and tonnes of volume, think of a refined Farrah Fawcett. Moschino and Versace went for classic tousled texture, whilst Topshop Unique kept it extremely natural. Create a wave using the round brush blow drying technique - or a large barrel curling iron for those less practised in blow drying. Brush out your style using your fingers for that natural texture.

New York Fashion Week Low Riding Ponytails

Low ponytails appeared on the Dior, Bora Aksu and Amanda Wakely catwalks, and are a great way to keep your hair of your face and from getting matted come scarf season. Wear smooth and sleek for a polished look or for something more glamorous, add a soft wave through your locks, before styling to one side.
